The Italian Chairmanship

Starting on 1st July 2006 Italy has taken over the Chairmanship of the EUREKA initiative until the end of June 2007. Italy will take responsibility for chairing the EUREKA meetings and representing EUREKA to third parties and organisations.The main task the Italian Chairmanship will face is to keep the strong momentum going for EUREKA, in order to strengthen and enhance its role in boosting European competitiveness through innovation.
Italian efforts will be aimed not only at stimulating the generation of ever increasing numbers of high – quality projects, but also at spreading EUREKA vision outside of its current geographical boundaries and at making EUREKA a tool available to the entire community of technological operators in Europe .
